In early 2008 it became necessary for Nouveau Kiskeya to slow down pre-development activities while it focused on a long-term property rights agreement with the Haitian Government. On September 23, 2008 and again on January 29, 2009 Nouveau Kiskeya represenatives met with key Government officials in Port-au-Prince to discuss next steps regarding the project.
We are pleased to announce that the government of Haiti has officially granted eligibility status to Nouveau Kiskeya. In an official letter to the leaders of the project, the government of Haiti has offered its full support to Nouveau Kiskeya as pre-development activities continue.
