Project Vision

Nouveau Kiskeya is an 11,500 acre land development project located along the northwest coast of Haiti. It is anchored on the west by the Village of Bord de Mer de Jean-Rabel and on the east by the small fishing Village of Port à l'Ecu. Nouveau Kiskeya fronts over 15 miles of stunning pristine, ocean front property. Nouveau Kiskeya is being developed in response to the demand created by the 2 million Haitians who live abroad (more than a million in the U.S. alone) who seek a quality development "back home".

As a for-profit enterprise, Nouveau Kiskeya is committed to creating value for customers, employees and investors alike. Beyond that, this project's founders feel very strongly about what this project means to the Haitian people, both in the short and long term. Nouveau Kiskeya will provide hundreds of local Haitians the opportunity to learn valuable skills and be exposed to technologies and practices that would not be possible otherwise. These highly trained Haitians combined with a new sense of pride, hope and opportunity will be the building blocks for a new Haiti... a Haiti that can become, as it once was, the Pearl of the Caribbean.

Project Summary

The initial phase of Nouveau Kiskeya is currently being designed and will encompass approximately 1500 single family and multifamily residential and retirement housing units along with 50,000 square feet of commercial opportunity. We envision these uses to be a combination of restaurants, boutiques and retail that will be incorporated into town centers and meeting areas and will allow our residents to live, work and play in a quality environment. Beyond the residential and commercial opportunities, the project will include the development of an infrastructure network, open space areas, parks, municipal center and inter-coastal trails. In addition, we will be partnering with the Nouveau Kiskeya Foundation to establish a non-profit, charitable organization to develop schools, medical clinics and low cost workforce housing to serve our workers. We believe that these improvements will help to foster community and will positively impact the entire region both socially and economically.

Project Management

The project's visionaries and founders are SOGEDEV Equity Group and Société Générale de Développement (SOGEDEV HAITI). SOGEDEV Equity Group is an American based investor group that, in conjunction with our Haitian partners, provides governance and vision to the Nouveau Kiskeya project. SOGEDEV, a for- profit Corporation, was incorporated in Haiti on June 15, 2005.

Nouveau Kiskeya

On April 20, 2006, SOGEDEV entered into an agreement with the Haitian Government to acquire the Nouveau Kiskeya property, which was formerly undeveloped state land. This agreement granted SOGEDEV permanent leasehold rights to the Nouveau Kiskeya property in exchange for the payment of an annual lease fee.

Regional Economic Opportunity

The construction of Nouveau Kiskeya will provide a fantastic opportunity for the local Haitians that reside within this region. Beyond the estimated 600 jobs created in the first three years of construction, the local Haitians will be learning valuable skills that will ensure long-term economic viability for themselves and their families. Starting wages for entry-level positions at Nouveau Kiskeya are substantially above the average daily wage in Haiti.

As we look forward, it is the goal of Nouveau Kiskeya to form the infrastructure network necessary to foster opportunity and economic growth within the northwest region of Haiti.
